SENIORS Schedules Races Results

Watch this space for the Seniors' Winter Training Schedule for 2019.

Both Tuesday and Thursday training starts at 7:00 pm and finishes at approximately 8:00 pm.

Details of each session are posted on the Club Calendar Page.

Please note that not all runs start at the club HQ (Peter Driver). Location maps may be found by navigating to the home page and clicking on the "Location Details" tab at the top of the page.

Informal Sunday training runs are being held when there are are not any formally arranged races being held. We meet on Sunday mornings at 08:30 outside the Peter Driver Club Hut. Pace and distance is decided on the day according to who turns up but these will largely be off-road. Dom & Bob will lead. Please check the calendar and emails to check whether run is going ahead.

Track training for Seniors is on the 400m military track in Queen's Avenue, Aldershot continues all year. It is held on every Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This session is shared with the Juniors with agreed priority of use of the lanes.

Please see calendar to check dates and "Location Details" page (link at top of home page) for location of track. The formal senior sessions are cancelled when they clash with the Yateley 10k races but informal use of the track is permitted with agreement from the junior coaches.

We have introduced 5k time trials at the track with a view to make this a regular fixture so that all members can measure progress throughout the season and see how they are benefiting from regular training. The results from the first event held on 15th August 2018 are HERE. This will form a benchmark for future time trials. The next Time Trial is scheduled for Wednesday 3rd April. Please read circulated email with link to spreadsheet where you can register your interest.

At the AGM in November 2015 it was agreed that the Club Road Race Championships should be relaunched. We have also decided because so many club members now also compete in many trail races that new Club Trail Race Championships should be introduced.

Tom Barton and Bob Cornwell will co-ordinate the results for 2019 and the awards will be presented at the AGM in November.

Details are HERE.

In 2018 the club joined the Hampshire Road Race League and as a result the Fleet Half-marathon was chosen to be one of the candidate races for the 2018-19 season. More details of the league may be found HERE.

For a number of years we have taken part in the Vets Track & Field league: Is there interest to do it in 2019?  We are affiliated so we should do what we can to get teams out.  The standard is very varied across the events and you can have a go at what you want or just compete in the events you know you can do.  There is generally an A and B runner for each track event and an A and B participant for each field event.  It is a good evening and enjoyable as a team event.
Each meeting will have a slightly different timetable of events but they are all on Monday evenings starting at 6.30pm for the first event and usually finishing around 9pm.
Basic criteria is that you have to be over 35 and within events there will also be sub-categories e.g. over 50, over 60 but these will be published once the timetables are published.
The dates/venues are as follows:
Please let Penny know if you are interested.
